At the 2024 Sun Life uXperience Design Jam, participants were challenged to create an empathetic and inclusive design solution to help young Canadians to better discover, understand, and use the financial tools and educational resources available to them. Teams were asked to address key industry pain point and transform this gap into an opportunity for meaningful, accessible engagement.
Thus, out team created Sprout—a financial app designed to help new parents manage their finances with ease. It combines budgeting tools with gamified, community-driven features to make planning more engaging and accessible.

At the 2024 Sun Life uXperience Design Jam, participants were challenged to create an empathetic, inclusive human-centered design solution to help young Canadians find and use the financial tools & education available to them. Teams were asked to break the challenge down into a solution that would address the pain points we have today in the industry, where there is so much information available, but are currently being under-utilized

Designed in a 12-hour sprint, we created a high-fidelity prototype for Sprout - a mobile budgeting app to help young Canadian parents feel more confident navigating financial tools during a major life transition. Sprout combines practical budgeting tools with gamified elements, allowing parents to set and track financial goals tailored to their family’s needs. By making financial planning engaging and accessible, Sprout empowers parents to save, plan, and grow their wealth while staying connected with others in similar life stages.
